Cheap Trick #2: Thrifty Gifties

Bonjour! Salut! Bienvenue!

Christmas in May? Valentine's Day in October? We shop year round for presents so that gifting is easy and stress free. Our local thrift store has baubles and bangles galore, many for under $2. We know what our friends like, and we keep a look out all the time.

Cheap Trick #1

Bonjour! Salut! Bienvenue!

We save all of our stray buttons (in a plastic baking cup container, of course) for use in sprucing up our thrift store finds.

Our "Cheap Trick #1" is a way to brighten up any cardigan. Replace the original buttons with assorted similar-sized buttons in a variety of colors. (Be sure to save the discarded buttons for a different project.) We'll showcase our favorite upcycled sweater shortly.

"Accordion" to Us...

Bonjour! Salut! Bienvenue!

...Strawberry Electric Nail Polish (#190) by Revlon goes perfectly with a push-button accordion.

What were we serenading our friends with? Elvis, of course. From "Love Me Tender" to "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You," our pink nails were as captivating as our melodies. Our DIY tip? Always accessorize your fingertips to your instrument.

"A gentleman is someone who can play the accordion, but doesn't."

How to Have Style

Bonjour! Salut! Bienvenue!

How to Have Style:

1) Buy a pair of thrift store jeans.
2) Learn how to embroider via youtube videos.
3) Adorn your pants while watching your favorite movie, like Gladiator. You'll cut down on the girly factor by watching a Testosterone-laden flick.
4) Wear your pants everywhere. (We're not at this stage yet. But we're enjoying #3.)

"I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity, all I hope for in my clothes."
- Yves Saint Laurent
